NOLA Who Dat?

Congratulations to New Orleans! NOLA's Saints pulled off the sweet upset as they dared to take what was seemingly Peyton's birth right. Who doesn't love the under dawg? We certainly do. Kind of reminds us when our Patriots were given absolutely NO chance of beating the Rams on Sunday in the Big Game on February 3, 2002. Funny how things happen? Our Pats were announced and came into the Big Show as a team and left the Big Game as Champions...for their very first time. Guess where it all happened? That's right... The Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Needless to say, We New England Fans hold New Orleans dear to our hearts. 

Mudge Studios has created a line of Who Dat? We All Dat! NOLA Fleur De Lis t-shirts and gifts for New Orleans Fans from all parts of the country. Mudge Studios offers a couple of variations including: Who Dat? NOLA Fleur De Lis Skeleton t-shirts and gifts for New Orleans Fans. Spring is in the Air!

Spring is around the corner. Well, at least when prepping for the baseball season it is. Spring training starts before ya know it. To get the baseball rolling, an old client had contacted Mudge Studios to do a custom pennant illustration for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals wanted two players featured on this pennant. The players to be depicted would be their catcher Yadier Molina and one of their pitchers Adam Wainwright. It had been a while since I've worked on assignment for this client so they requested sketches...

The Cards picked A. The project was going to be screened, so I had to work in spot channels. I refined the rough and then set up a Photoshop document with the team PMS Colors.

 

 Top left represents the base flesh color, Top Middle- a darker flesh for modeling, Top Right is Cardinals Red and Bottom left is Cards Blue. Put 'em together and you get the result at the Bottom Right. Now it just need the black line art and a little tone and you get...

 

Mudge Studios' part is done. Now the project gets emailed to the client who has a great graphics dept. that will design the remaining elements such as player names, additional text and logos. Hope the pennant prints well. It was a pleasure working with this client again. I actually miss those days :)

Polar bears are Awesome and most definitely COOL. On Lost, The Polar Bear Theme runs through out the Lost series as seen in Hurley's comic book, the polar bear skeleton in Tunisia, Walt's stuffed bear, also in Locke's dream and more. Before getting Loose and terrorizing parts of Lost Island, Polar Bears were kept in cages at the Dharma Initiative's Hydra Station. Our Coolest Lost Fan Polar Bear design features a Dharma Polar Bear sporting cool Hydra Station sun glasses and Charlie Pace's quote- "You didn't hear about the polar bear?".
