ESPN FAN Gear by Mudge Studios
ESPN FAN Gear at CafePress
Welcome to Mudge Studios New ESPN FAN Shop at CafePress
There is probably nothing out there as popular as sports, here in America. Americans play all types of sports at so many levels and variations starting with programs for the little kids on thru middle school, high school, university and collegiate. Then there's semi-pro and of course, don't forget the multitude of professional leagues such as the NFL , MLB, NBA, NHL- only to name just a few. I remember growing up and waiting every weekend to catch the Wide World of Sports Broadcast on ABC.  For me that was decades ago- maybe sometime during the mid 70's.
These days it's all about the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network. That's right, since 1979, ESPN has been covering so many of our favorite sports. Through the Years, ESPN has continued to expand its sports network by adding shows such as: SportsCenter, ESPN College Football, ESPN GameDay, ESPN College Basketball , ESPNU, SportsNation, Mike and Mike, Around the Horn, Pardon the Interruption, Baseball Tonight, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Fantasy Football. You named the sport and ESPN has it covered. With ESPN vast network, the sports fan always has a way to keep informed about their favorite sport whether it be on cable tv, sports radio or streamed via the internet. We love our ESPN!
Thanks to a special licensing agreement between ESPN and CafePress, Mudge Studios is able to bring you some cool ESPN Sports fan Merch. All of our ESPN Sports Fan Art, except for the official ESPN logos of course, was created by Mudge who has also done a vast amount of Sports Art featured on officially licensed Major League Sports products such as t-shirts, pennants, sports magazines and in the sports section of his local newspaper for 20 plus years. So, whether you play sports or just love to watch them on your favorite ESPN Broadcasts, checkout our large variety of Awesome ESPN Sports Fan Designs on t-shirts, stickers, hats, refrigerator magnets and other misc. novelties.
We thank you for shopping our ESPN Fan Shop. Please tell all of the Sports Fanatics in your family or circle of friends and co-workers.
Funny example of just one of our ESPN Text Tees. No, I'm not a professional sports analyst, but I do watch ESPN. Because Of ESPN Sports Center, I am considered a Sports Guru and a Genius. ESPN fan merch is made by sports fans for the sports fan.

CFTBL Fan!

CFTBL Fan Art on t-shirts and gifts
Once again, I've got to thank CafePress for the opportunity to create and produce licensed Universal Monsters art for use on t-shirts, posters, stickers, mugs and other assorted gift items. Their licensee program which includes some of my favorite movies and tv shows is really the only thing that keeps me producing and posting new Mudge Studios artwork on their POD site. Anyway, back to the image featured above which is an oval Creature From the Black Lagoon sticker. You can see that item as well as others designed specifically for a variety of other CFTBL novelties. You can check out Mudge's new CFTBL shop at CafePress Here. Oh, Be sure to shop directly at my shops, If you do plan to buy any of my Creature from the Black Lagoon designs as CafePress's direct market place usually charges much more.
Assorted CFTBL items at Mudge Studios CafePress Shop

As mentioned in a past post, The Creature from the Black Lagoon movies were some of my all time favorites when I was a kid. The Creature from the Black Lagoon was a Universal Studios Monster Movie released in 1954. The plot unreels when a fossilized skeletal hand with webbed digits is uncovered during an expedition deep in the Amazon. Dr. David Reed, a renowned ichthyologist from the marine biology institute finds a way to get back there to search for a complete specimen. The Creature from the Black Lagoon represents the missing link between land and marine animals- a valuable addition to the fossil record. Ultimately, the expedition finds its way into the Black Lagoon where they are confronted by a live specimen that hunts them down. The Gill-Man eventually kidnaps Kay the heroine of the story, and there is a standoff in The Creatures lair where the piscine amphibious humanoid is presumably shot to death. The Creature's body is never recovered.
There were three CFTBL flicks. The original '54 classic, the Revenge of the Creature and lastly- The Creature Walks Among Us. I remember the times when my mom would wake me up really late at night for the Creature Double Features that ran on Saturday Nights. She'd boil hot dogs and we'd enjoy all of those Universal Studio Monster Classics! Thought it would be interesting to mention that two actors played the part of the infamous amphibious Creature. Ben Chapman was the Creature on land while Ricou Browning did the underwater work. There has been talk over the years of remaking the movie and each time the project was scrapped due to various reasons. Rumor has it that Universal is currently making yet another attempt. We'll see...
Anyway, I really enjoyed creating the CFTBL fan art.  I hope that you like it too.

I Heart CFTBL Fan Design

Phillip Phillips: The Next American Idol

Phillip Phillips T-Shirt @ CafePress
After watching American Idol over the last ten years, I've gotten pretty good at picking the talent that would eventually make it to the show's finale. Season One One is really no different, other than the fact that I believe that we have seen this season's winner wrap up the first night of auditions. The contestant casually walks in wearing sandals and a flannel shirt with an acoustic guitar by his side. His name is Phillip Phillips and I have feeling that he had established himself as the front runner with that soulful performance of Stevie Wonder's Superstition while sealing the deal with his unique acoustic rendition of Michael Jackson's Thriller.  It appears that Season One One has found the Next American Idol in Phillip Phillips!

Rock American Idol Season 11 with our Phillip Phillip T-Shirts, Buttons and more for Phillip Fans of all ages. Also- Be sure to watch American Idol and Vote for Phillip Phillip early and often each and every week while wearing our Cool American Idol Gear. This kid is a true musical artist and t will be a pleasure watching him perform each week. Remember it's not Philip Phillips or Philip Philips... It's Phillip Phillips or simply put- Phillip squared.

Alex and Lilly Idol Tribute Designs

Looks like American Idol has just thrown us their first real blindsides of Season 9 with the elimination of a couple of young, bright, talented artists. I'm still scratching my heads as to how Indie artist Lilly Scott and that nineteen year old Alex Lambert from Texas could be ousted- while certain others move on into the coveted top 12.

The first surprise was to see Alex Lambert go. This kid from Texas certainly has one of the most unique voices of this season, unfortunately Alex seemed to have a serious case of stage nerves. Seems that just as Alex was starting to warm up and really starting to feel comfortable with himself,  he gets shown the door. Alex obviously lacked experience and it's too bad that American Idol can't be that vehicle for him to gain more of it. On a positive note, Alex isn't obligated contractually with American Idol any longer, so other opportunities could indeed open up for him.  This kid will go places. Anyway, Mudge Studios had come up with a couple of new American Idol t-shirt designs inspired by some of last week's Idol performances. The first, is our Winged Heart and Scrolling Microphone design for Alex Lambert Fans.  This design was created prior to the disapointing results show, but we are keeping them up for sale until the conclusion of the season. Our Unique Alex Lambert winged heart fan gear makes great Gift Ideas for your  friends and family who love Alex too. Although gone from the American Idol  competition, You can still Support Alex Lambert when you wear our Alex Lambert Shirts, Hats, Mugs and  Stickers.
The next surprise was the lack of support for Lilly Scott- resulting in her dismissal from Idol. This young lady is very talented and seemed most comfortable in her own skin- Lilly knows what kind of recording artist that she wants to be. Was it song choice that sunk her? Although I loved the performance, I'm not sure that a Patsy Cline song was the best idea for capturing the support of the demographic that actually votes on American Idol. Maybe Lilly was just too quirky and mainstream America is just not ready for
this type of Indie Artist. Could also be that Lilly was considered by many to be a genuine contender, easily sliding into the deeper rounds. May just come down to Lilly's fans being lazy or even complacent that she'd surely secure a spot in the top 12. Who knows for sure, but at least we'll be sure of one thing... Lilly will go on to record some great music for a fan base that will be supportive of her uniqueness. For the remainder of Season 9, Mudge Studios is permitted to post for sale on its CafePress shop a Variety of Lilly Scott Designs on Shirts, Hats, Mugs, Stickers for Lilly Scott Fans of all ages. Lilly Scott Designs include: Distressed Guitar, Winged Heart and American Idol Microphone. Our Unique Lilly fan gear makes great Gift Ideas for your friends and family too. You can still Support Lilly Scott when you wear our Scott Fan Merchandise as Lilly forges her own path in her Musical Career.

My way to Help Haiti

The absolute destruction that the earthquake in Haiti caused touched my heart deeply. I felt compelled to help in some way. Cafepress offered an opportunity to donate Haiti relief designs to the cause. I spent the time creating the Haiti design featured above. I submitted my Haiti design with the attached email... "Thanks for the opportunity to contribute in a way that could potentially be larger than what I can afford to give out of pocket. Attached is my design contribution.
Thank you,
Allen Mudgett
Mudge Studios"
Unfortunately, I received the following response... "Thank you so much for supporting UNICEF and the people of Haiti.  We were overwhelmed with the number of submissions for the store. We are no longer accepting design donations however, we are very grateful for your support and thank you for taking the time to help."

Anyway, I need to help. I set up  a separate Haiti Needs Love  CafePress shop apart from my Mudge Studios efforts. This will make it very easy to account for all proceeds made directly from this Haiti Relief design. I hope that the effort is successful- although this design won't be featured on the Haiti Relief Portal.
As human beings we are all connected. If there is anyway that you can help. Please find your way. Bless the people of Haiti.

Coincidence or Intuned with Eywa?

On Tuesday I was on a mission. I am working hard to consolidate my Premium Shops at CafePress. I currently have 13 Premium shops and I desire to trim that number down for ease of management and marketing. Tuesday's assignment was to transfer my content including text, designs and products from my ProjectEarthDay shop over to a designated Earth Day section at my Mudge Studios Premium CafePress store  as seen below.

I was making great progress when my daughter Mariah called me that afternoon and asked me if I wanted to see Avatar. Initially, I had my reservations thinking that the experience was going to be similar to that of playing a high end video game. I wasn't sure whether director James Cameron was going to pull his + $300,000,000 project off in a convincing fashion, so I didn't rush out for this one. Well... I was wrong. The technology used to bring his blue alien people to life was pure genius. Avatar introduced me to a whole new world in Pandora- the landscape, skyscape, flora and fauna are simply- breath taking. It didn't take me long to empathize with the Na'vi ( those blue aliens mentioned previously) and form a connection to their  beautiful philosophy concerning life, energy and a harmony with nature.
Anyway, after watching Avatar, I couldn't wait to get back to the studios and put together a few new Earth Day designs inspired by the movie. I tweaked a few of my established Earthday designs and added Avatar inspired slogans such as: Earth is My Home Tree and "All Energy is Borrowed; at some point you have to return it".

I know that many of us celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd of each year, but after seeing Avatar, I realize that Every Day should be Earth Day. We only have one Mother Earth aka Mother Nature and we need to protect and cherish her. Appreciate Mother Nature like the Na'vi and Wear our unique Earth Day Gear to spread the word. I can see a future where those who have become green aspire to become an even more sublime hue... blue.

Who Are You?!

Thanks to CafePress, I put some more Rock and Roll Artwork on my agenda. I couldn't resist the opportunity to create Fan art for t-shirts and gift items commemorating The Who. The Who were one of my Favorite Bands when I was a teenager. I bought everyone of The Who's albums... then the cassettes. Actually, I even had a couple of 8 Track Tapes. Yep, I'm dating myself now. Anyway, I did a series of variations based on The Who design above which features England's Union Jack and the slogan Absobloodylutely. Check out Teenaged Wasteland, Who are you, My Generation, The Kids are Alright and of course... Won't get fooled Again.

Another one of My Who designs features The Who Magic Bus on t-shirts and more. This Who Fan art features a doubledecker decked out in  England's Flag sporting the slogan The Kids are Alright.  This design was a lot of fun to create. Check out My Generation with guitar at the back of the double decker. Be sure to Catch the X69. Long live Pete Townshend, Roger Daltry, John Entwistle, Kenney Jones. Also- We'll Never Forget Keith Moon. This Who design features the British Royal Air Force Roundel. We have another variation that doesn't.  THA 111. Be sure to Celebrate the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Band that is The Who with Mudge Studios Rockin' Cool Who Gear at CafePress.com/MudgeStudios. Classic Rock will always Live On.
Well, that about wraps up my Rock and Roll Shop at CafePress. I hear that CafePress will be licensing additional bands and musicians in the future. I'd love to see them get The Clash, Elvis Costello, etc. In the meantime, I did a couple of quick Maroon 5 designs that were recently added to my Mudge Studios' Shop.

2010 In Like A Tiger

Well, it's January first 2010! Becki and I had a great time last night visiting both family and friends, but now it is the time to get back to the drawing board. Thought I start the year off with a couple of designs commemorating the Year of the Tiger. No, not that Tiger Woods guy.

The Tiger I am celebrating comes to us courtesy from Chinese Astrology or better yet the Chinese Zodiac. The Tiger Person is quite often honest and outgoing by nature. Tiger People are charismatic members of one of the most admired signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Quite often Tigers become leaders. Tiger People also love being the center of attention. Tigers have no problem speaking out against wrong doings. Check out our Cool Year of the Tiger 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950, 1938, 1926, 1914 t-shirts, stickers & More at Mudge Studios' Zazzle Shop. I've posted two designs. The first Year of the Tiger design features a more traditional style with a noble Tiger portrait including all of the Tiger years starting from 1914 to 2010. My other Tiger design features an Awesome Tiger Footballer in 3 point stance ready to dominate on the Football Field. These Year of the Tiger novelties make for GGGreat Tiger Gift Ideas for Proud Tiger People. Check out just a few Tiger Designs below.

Tigers Rock! Best wishes for a promising New Year from Mudge Studios.

Opportunity to KISS

As many of you know, I've set up countless shops at CafePress over the years. Self initiated projects such as these have kept me busy between projects that I've had lined up with my clientele. What started as a no risk free trial has grown into countless opportunities to create and sell sports, dinosaurs, animals, humor and even political POD merchandise.  One of the latest opportunities permits CafePress shop keepers to create fan based artwork featuring several noteworthy bands and musicians. There were some very strict guidelines that shop keepers had to adhere to, but none the less, I can now create Kiss Fan T-shirts. Check out our Mudge Studios' Kiss Fan Gear at CafePress Here.

Most of  Our Cool Kiss Fan art depicts a Skull decked out with a KISS bandana with microphone crossbones with flames in the background of course. When I was a young teenager, KISS was one of the Hottest, Most Controversial acts of the time. Decades may have passed, BUT Long live Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Be sure to Commemorate the Future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Band that is Kiss with our Rockin' Cool Kiss Gear. I chose to do several of KISS' most popular song and album titles including: Hotter than Hell, Lick it Up, Calling Dr. Love and Detroit Rock City. Also featured is- We Want You- KISS ARMY. Following is an example of our popular Detroit Rock City design...

Classic Rock will always Live On.

New Years Resolution Comes Early

Well, It's that time of year again. Those who really know me, know that I take my New Years Resolutions very seriously. For example: on January 1, 2004, I vowed to give up ice cream for 3 months along with my two girls. That was no easy task as Ice cream was my absolutely favorite stress reducing crutch... but we did it. The following year, Sam and I renewed our resolution with a 6 months abstinence. Once again, challenging, BUT We did it! The following year I was to go solo with an extension to one full calendar year. I haven't had ice cream since and my stomach is all the happier for it.

That brings me to 2010. Yes, I'll continue to give up ice cream, but I've decided to add an important resolution for this upcoming new year. My friend Arnie had been pushing me for quite some time to market Mudge Studios. Well... After a long chat with Gary, my brother in law, I've decided to make a commitment  to develop some social networking to promote Mudge Studios. He suggested that I really concentrate my efforts in branding Mudge Studios. To get Mudge Studios out there on everything including Twitter. Well, Part of that promotion will be to maintain a blog. That is where the hard part comes in. Typing for me, takes forever, but I will promise myself to post something Mudge Studios related at least once a week. It does look promising, as today is Dec. 29th and I've already activated my Blogger account and made my first posting:)
