The fall and October in particular is one of my favorite seasons. The air quality is crisp as the foliage begins to brighten the treelines- especially here in New England. Favorites such as hearty stews, chili, mulled cider, pumpkin pies and apple crisp are rockin' the autumn menu. Also- can NOT forget the fine brews that make their way onto the shelves for a limited time. The days may indeed start to get shorter, but that also gives us more time to enjoy a longer Night Life. That's right, October is the Time for Oktoberfest!

According to Wikipedia..."Oktoberfest is a 16–18 day beer festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world's largest fair, with more than 5 million people attending every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event."

According to US- Oktoberfest should be Everyday! Yep, I'm such a Beer Hound aka Bier Hound, especially during this time of year. Well, Fall is just around the corner and yes, the days are getting shorter as the air is getting crisper and the leaves begin to turn. BUT, Something is indeed brewing. That's right- The months of September and October brings us Oktoberfest. This glorious 16-18 day event brings we lucky folk a multitude of festivity featuring polka, pretzels, bratwurst and large variety and quantity of beer. The good news is that you don't have to travel to Germany to get a taste of it. The original "Oktoberfest" may have occurred in Munich, on October 12, 1810, but these days the celebration of Oktoberfest takes place at many other cities all around the globe.
