Oktoberfest Bier Hound Gear

Oktoberfest Bier Hound by Mudge Studios

The fall and October in particular is one of my favorite seasons. The air quality is crisp as the foliage begins to brighten the treelines- especially here in New England. Favorites such as hearty stews, chili, mulled cider, pumpkin pies and apple crisp are rockin' the autumn menu. Also- can NOT forget the fine brews that make their way onto the shelves for a limited time. The days may indeed start to get shorter, but that also gives us more time to enjoy a longer Night Life. That's right, October is the Time for Oktoberfest!

According to Wikipedia..."Oktoberfest is a 16–18 day beer festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world's largest fair, with more than 5 million people attending every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event."

According to US- Oktoberfest should be Everyday! Yep, I'm such a Beer Hound aka Bier Hound, especially during this time of year. That brings us to the Oktoberfest Emblem design featured at the top of this post. Featured here is our beer drinking German Shepherd holding a frosty mug of Bier. The colors of the German flag serve as the emblem's background along with the German cheer- Prost. Celebrate this Octoberfest when you wear or display our Oktoberfest mugs, steins, shirts and more for Beer Bier Lovers from all countries. Oktoberfest Graphics are created by Mudge Studios at Zazzle. As always- Enjoy the festivity that is Oktoberfest, BUT Please make arrangements to drink safely.  Prost!

I Heart Beach Volleyball Hat

People have asked me about our "You Wish that You could Spike Like a Girl" Design and its meaning. These days, I know a lot of Women who love playing volleyball and in fact many girls in some areas of our nation seem better trained and as a result some play better volleyball than the boys. For example, My daughter was raised in a town that has Girl's High School Volleyball Only. She Practiced, Trained and Played all Four Years. During that same time, she would participate in coed gym class and each year volleyball eventually would have its time in the rotation. Of course, The boys would think that they were all that, make their chauvenistic comments and try and show off. Indeed, the boys were very athletic, but lacked the necessary volleyball fundamentals. So, each time a sweet set would come her way, My daughter couldn't wait to teach these boys a lesson . If you have experienced something similar, You'll dig our Spike like a Girl Volleyball designs on shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel. Thanks for browsing.

Happy Chinese New Year OR is it?

Funny Year of the Rabbit 2011 Gear at Mudge Studios POD Shops.
Well, it's that time of year again. Early January, I have been submitting a design or two to commemorate the Chinese New Year. The Chinese Zodiac offers some great t-shirt subject matter in the form of animals. 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit. The Rabbit Person is quite often friendly, compassionate, non confrontational and serene by nature. Rabbit People love the comfort of being at home. Rabbits are very giving in their relationships and they do best when they partner with those who don't take advantage of them. Quite often Rabbits become writers, actors, teachers, designers and diplomats.
Anyway, it's NOW 2011 and many of us are still stuck in the quagmire of a long economic recession. As such, we refuse to create the traditional Year of the Rabbit gift items with all those adorable bunnies with pink little noses and cotton tails. Instead we bring you a reality check. That's right, we present Rabbit 2011... it's what's for dinner. Featured are bunny triplets ready to be butchered for rabbit stew or maybe even a rabbit pie. Check out Mudge's Humorous Year of the Rabbit 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939, 1927, 1915 t-shirts, stickers & More from Mudge Studios. Perfect Rabbit Gift Items for Rabbit People with a quirky, no, warped sense of humor.

Mudge's Unicorn Humor Tee Rocks

Had a little Free Time for some doodling; such a great way to vent when stressed. So I sat in front of the monitor armed with my Wacom just thinking about something cool, maybe even a little gross, but could be seen as humorous- maybe in a corny way at the same time. That's how Mudge's "Never play leap frog with a Unicorn" t shirt came about. Pictured is a Funny image of bloody boy impaled by the horn of a white unicorn with rainbow in the background. The unicorn and the rainbow are the universal symbols for corny. Check out all of the T-shirt humor by Mudge Studios at Mudge's New Skreened Shop. This design was actually featured on Skreened's landing page for a week. Got some extra traffic to the shop as a bonus :)

Recycling is Key Graphics

Variety of Recycling is Key Gear by Mudge Studios @ Zazzle

Seems like The Human Race as a whole needs to climb on board and start respecting our dear Mother Earth.  Although the Universe seemingly revolves around us humans, it obviously doesn't. People need to own up to the impact that our species has on everything- from pollution of our air, our precious water and our soil to the endangerment of many species of animals and varieties of plant life.

Mudge Studios has  been creating Earth Friendly designs on various POD sites for years now. Mudge's Earth Day Gear was designed to help to make others aware of our predicament. Wear our Recycling is Key t-shirts, buttons and stickers. To follow are a few Recycle Graphics from CafePress, Zazzle and Wordans. Recycling is Key depicts the universal Recycle Graphics with symbols for Earth's air, water and land. Representing the water is a fish, the air a dove, the land a dog. In the center of the design is a key. Hence the slogan Recycling is Key!

Recycling is Key Organic @ CafePress

Featured above is Our Recycling is Key gear at Cafepress. Our Mudge Studios shop at CafePress has a large variety of Earth Day gift ideas for sale. Included are: light and dark apparel, mugs, note cards, mouse pads, stickers, buttons and magnets.

Lee Dewyze wins Idol 9

Mudge Studios' Lee Dewyze Shop @ CafePress

It all came down to Lee Dewyze the young paint salesman from Chicago and the talented Crystal Bowersox- aka MamaSox- the single mother from Ohio. Right from the beginning, these two musicians were two of our early favorites to be in the Idol finale . We also figured that either Andrew Garcia, Mike Lynche or Casey James would battle for the top 3 spot. Turned out to be Casey.

The finale performance show seemed to go well for both artists, but we felt that Crystal may have had an edge over Lee in her energy level and stage presence. This opinion seemed to be echoed by the judge's critiques as well. It almost seemed that the judges were pushing a little for Crystal. The judge's comments may have ignited the Lee Dewyze fan base resulting in a winning number of votes for their beloved Lee. In our household, we loved both performers, but we felt that Lee Dewyze was somebody that would fit the mold of Our Next American Idol just a little bit better than Crystal. Don't get me wrong, we'll buy Crystal's album when it's released. Our hunch was right as America selected the humble paint salesman as America's favorite. Lee performed an emotional rendition of U2's "Beautiful Day" while confetti sprinkled down from the rafters at the Kodak Theatre.

Commemorate Lee Dewyze's incredible journey on American Idol with Mudge Studios' Cool Lee Dewyze Idol Gear. Celebrate with our Idol Shirts, Hats, Mugs and More as Lee is launched from American Idol Season 9 Winner towards a career of musical stardom. Mudge Studios @ Skreened

New Mudge Studios Shop @ Skreened

In an effort to branch out and get more exposure for  Mudge Studios' art. Mudge Studios has decided to search for and try out some additional Print On Demand opportunities. Everyone knows that CafePress is over run with a million other shops. I've discovered a few companys that could pan out. Featured in this posting is Skreened. Skreened is a small outfit located in Columbus, Ohio. I found them online when I searched for alternative PODs. The following is what the people of Skreened have to say:

"Skreened uses new technology to print soft, durable, full color prints directly onto garments.

It's an efficient CMYK printing process that allows us to print as few as 1 item cost effectively.

In addition to our technology, we only print onto garments that have been manufactured in verified work conditions that do not exploit workers."

So far the process for uploading and creating product seems easy with a friendly interface. Skreened allows the set up of multiple free shops with the freedom to set your own commission. The drawback at this point seems to be that there is really no way to customize the look of one's shop. Organizing the Mudge Studio's shop seemed very primitive as well. As such, my Mudge Studios Shop comes across as very basic...

Thanks to Skreened, Mudge Studios is now selling a number of products with Mudge's unique Artwork on them. Please feel free to browse Our Gift Shops and buy something unique for your Friends & Family and of course Yourself! We've soon have Sports Designs featuring Baseball, Fantasy Football, Dinosaur Sports, Mixed Martial Arts; as well as Father's Day Gifts, Dogs & More.

The Good News is- that within a couple of days of opening my Mudge Studios' Shop, We got our first sale. Mudge Studios' Cool 3 Point Stance Football Design as seen below, drew first blood :) I hope that Skreened continues to develop their business.

Anti-Cyberbully Gear

 Stop Cyber-Bullying Gear @ CafePress

We Must ALL Unite to Prevent Cyber Bullying! These days cyber-bullying has become a sinister epidemic that has destroyed or is currently ruining the lives of many of our young people. Many victims of internet harassment feel helpless and have suffered these attacks alone, unable or embarrassed  to reach out for help or even to simply discuss their situation with anyone. We need to join together as family, friends, law makers, authorities and fellow human beings to make Cyber Bullies aware that cyberbullying is indeed a serious crime and it will be punished. Cyber Bullies may even think that their relentless damage is being perpetrated anonymously... BUT NOT ANYMORE. Thanks to the rapid development of technology these days, Cyber-Bullies will inevitably be found and exposed for what they are. Cyber Bullying is no longer a faceless crime.

A Frog's Life...

A Frogs Life Gift Shop @ Zazzle

Frogs are amphibians. The majority of frogs have long, powerful hind legs, a short body, webbed fingers and toes, bulging eyes and no tail. Frogs are of course known to be elite leapers. Currently, More than 5,000 species of Frog are known to inhabit our planet, but unfortunately- many species are becoming endangered. As I write this blog entry, I have to double check my facts. Did I previously mention frogs living in subartic areas? Subartic?  I wonder if other planets could indeed play host to a variety of extraterrestrial frogs?
